The Associated Press is reporting the NBA has set a Jan. 10 deadline for the NFL to extend its contract with Commissioner Roger Goodell, with the union and the NBA reportedly set to strike.
The NFL’s contract expires at the end of the season, which means the union is set to begin talks with Goodell about extending the contract at that point, according to multiple sources.
A league source told USA TODAY Sports on Tuesday that the NBA will strike if Goodell does not sign off on extending the deal by Jan. 11.
The source did not disclose the details of the talks.
The NBA has been without a Commissioner since Goodell stepped down in August 2017.
